Deputies on the Hunt for Impaired Drivers Tonight

Extra patrols are scheduled to hit the streets of San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and San Clemente this Valentine's Day.

If you’re in the mood for love this Valentine’s evening, enjoy but don’t drink and drive.

Deputies will be out in full force tonight, searching for impaired drivers in San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and San Clemente.

The “DUI saturation patrols” will be on duty from 7 tonight until 3 a.m. Saturday.

“These patrols will be targeting areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests,” says a press release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s officials use these extra patrols, often scheduled around holidays and times of merriment, to reduce the number of DUI-related collisions and deaths, the press release says.
