Deputy Holds Deported Felon at Gunpoint

Police say Estoban Estrada, 26, of San Juan Capistrano, led deputies on a short foot chase.

A suspected burglar later found to be a deported felon led police on a short chase late Friday night, with one Orange County sheriff's deputy eventually holding the man at gunpoint, authorities said.

According to the Sheriff's Department, shortly before 9 p.m., a deputy confronted a man on Paseo Carolina. The man, later identified as Estoban Estrada, 26, of San Juan Capistrano, had methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools in his possession, authorities said.

As Estrada was being taken into custody, police say, he ran away. A radio broadcast was put out as the deputies chased him. Estrada ran into his home in the  26000 block of Paseo Pamela, with the two deputies right behind him, authorities said.
