Foiled Carjacking in Marbella Plaza

Woman says man punched her in an attempt to steal her Porsche.

A woman told KTLA news that she was a victim of an attempted carjacking Tuesday in a San Juan Capistrano shopping center.

The victim told the news reporter that after parking her 2012 Porsche to make a stop in the  when suddenly a man was punching her in the face. The video shows wound marks on her cheeks.

The woman is not identified in the news report. She said her attacker had something in his hand which she could not initially identify.

"It turned out to be a Bic lighter in his hand, and then he just clocked me," she told KTLA.

The victim said she called for help, and when people in nearby stores responded, the suspect ran off into a nearby salon, where an employee told KTLA he grabbed him by the waist and held him until deputies arrived.

Patch had contacted an Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman earlier in the day about the attempted hijacking but received no response. The department's blotter says a "carjacking report" call came in at 1:17 p.m. Tuesday.

According to KTLA, 23-year-old Brian Cain was arrested on suspicion of battery with serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted carjacking.
