Good Samaritans Turn in Wallet, Bike

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, two arrests, a honking car and a hit-and-run accident.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.

At 10:43 p.m. Friday, a caller informed deputies of a suspicious person in the Carl's Jr. parking lot  on Del Obispo Street near Ortega Highway. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a suspect allegedly involved in drug activity. A 20-year-old man was arrested. No bail amount was listed.

At 9:22 p.m. Friday, an informant called the sheriff’s department to complain about a disturbance in the 33200 block of Paseo Carolina. The caller was bothered by a car horn that wouldn’t stop honking.

At 11:46 a.m. Friday, a deputy making a traffic spot at the intersection of Rancho Viejo and Ganado roads discovered a man had had a warrant out for his arrest. The 24-year-old was arrested. There was no bail amount indicated.

At 8:58 a.m. Friday, a good Samaritan called the sheriff’s department to report a bicycle found near the Paseo Espada-Rancho Viejo Road intersection. The bicycle was in the bushes.

At 3:44 p.m.  Thursday, a good Samaritan called to report a found wallet and identification in the 27100 block of Capote de Paseo.

At 3:06 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff’s department was notified of a hit-and-run accident involving three vehicles near the corner of Del Obispo Street and Camino Capistrano. According to the informant, a woman driving a black Escalade hit two other cars. A man was also in the SUV, which sustained damage to the driver’s side front corner. It was last seen driving north on Del Obispo toward Ortega Highway.
