Group Sets off Fireworks Near Horse Stables

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a red light causes chaos, a man and a woman ask for charity on Christmas Eve, and a frustrated caller reports an annoying piñata.

At 2:44 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, a caller told deputies about a fireworks violation in the 28400 block of Calle Arroyo. A group of unknown people was setting off fireworks next to local horse stables, and the caller was concerned for the safety of everyone involved. No arrest was made.

At 5:40 p.m. Monday Dec. 23, a caller reported that the left-turn arrow at Ortega Highway and Rancho Viejo Road was not working, and everyone was running a red.

At 12:19 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, someone called deputies to report two suspicious people near the cross streets of Del Obispo Street and Camino Capistrano. A man and a woman were begging for money in the center divided of the road.

At 11:27 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 24, a caller reported a disturbance in the 30800 block of Calle Chueca. A loud party involving booming music and a piñata was disturbing neighbors. 

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
