Hit-and-Run Culprit from Another City Caught in San Juan

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a group of teens lounge on the railroad tracks, a grandmother vs. a granddaughter, and a caller reports a mysterious white powder.

At 2:49 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 15, deputies stopped a vehicle near the cross streets of Junipero Serra Road and Camino Capistrano. The car was significantly damaged. Deputies suspected the woman was involved in a hit and run, which occurred in another city nearby. The 25-year-old woman was arrested and has since been released from jail after her bond was posted.

At 11:27 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 15, someone reported a traffic hazard near the cross streets of Camino Capistrano and Avenida Aeropuerto. A group of teens was sitting on the local train tracks.

At 12:11 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 15, a caller reported a disturbance in the 32300 block of Alipaz Street. A woman was in a heated verbal fight with her 27-year-old granddaughter. Deputies arrived to calm the situation.

At 3:35 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 15, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the cross streets of Stonehill Drive and Camino Capistrano. A truck had mistakenly dropped a load of white powder onto the I-5 Freeway. The caller believed the white substance was illegal drugs.
