A teenager was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in San Juan Capistrano Thursday.
According to Lt. John Meyer, chief of police services for the city, Sergio Granados, 18, of San Juan Capistrano, was hit about 9:45 p.m. Thursday in the 26000 block of La Zanja.
“The suspect vehicle/driver immediately fled the area without making any attempt to stop and render aid or exchange information with the victim,” Meyer said.
The driver did ditch the vehicle, which was towed and impounded to be searched for evidence, Meyer said.
“Witnesses stopped to assist the victim … who was eventually transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries,” he added.
