Early Morning Graffiti Vandals Spark Multiple Calls

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a couple tries to cash-in, a missing vehicle, and a suspicious loiterer.

At 5:45 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 5, a caller told deputies about a vandalism in progress near the cross streets of Del Obispo Street and Camino Capistrano. At 6:03 a.m., another caller reported the graffiti to officers. Before deputies arrived, the vandals had vanished. One of the informants led deputies to the spot where the delinquents had tagged the left side of the creek bed near Alipaz Street.

Also:

At 1:36 p.m. Monday Nov. 4, someone reported fraud in the 31800 block of Del Obispo Street. The caller claimed a young couple was trying to cash a fraudulent check.

At 5:54 p.m. Monday Nov. 4, deputies received a report of a burglary in the 26600 block of Paseo Durango. The informant told deputies his car had been stolen.

At 1:26 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 5, someone reported a suspicious person in the 33900 block of Doheny Park Road. The informant claimed a man was suspiciously loitering in a local parking lot, and had run away northbound.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
