Man Arrested in Strong-Arm Robbery at Costco

Danny Perez, 47, is accused of stealing a 7-inch TV.

A man who is accused of striking a Costco worker while stealing a 7-inch TV from the store Thursday is in custody.

Danny Perez, 47, was arrested on suspicion of strong-arm robbery shortly after the theft.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Perez walked into the Costco at Doheny Park Road and Camino Capistrano, headed to the electronics area and took a Vizio portable TV out of its box and put it in his jacket. An employee tried to stop Perez but, authorities said, Perez used his forearm to hit the worker and ran from the store.

The employee chased Perez but lost him. Deputies later caught up with him at the northwest corner of Stonehill and Camino Capistrano and took him into custody.
