A San Juan Capistrano man was killed when he was ejected from his car during a collision with an SUV in Tustin, authorities said today.
The accident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Portola Parkway, said Tustin police Sgt. Andrew Birozy.
"A preliminary investigation revealed a passenger car being driven by an adult male was traveling westbound on Portola Parkway when it collided with an SUV traveling northbound on Jamboree," Birozy said.
"The driver of the passenger car was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene," he said.
The Orange County coroner's office identified the deceased driver as Stewart Wilshire, 21, of San Juan Capistrano.
"The adult male and adult female in the SUV were transported to an area hospital. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening," Birozy said.
"The cause of the collision is unknown and the investigation is ongoing," he said.
