Orange County sheriff's deputies were investigating the shooting death today of a man in a Mission Viejo cul-de-sac as a suicide.
A man called deputies from a home on Argento and said he was going to hurt himself and, seconds later at 4:17 a.m., dispatchers got a call from an nearby resident who reported hearing a gunshot and seeing a man down on the street, Lt. Jeff Hallock said.
The name of the man, who was declared dead at the scene, was not immediately available.
Argento was blocked at Baccara Drive to accommodate the investigation, but residents were being allowed in and out of their homes.
