Man Suspected of Immigration Violations Is Allegedly Found with Meth

Manual Mendoza, 34, was arrested Friday in San Juan Capistrano.

A man wanted by authorities for alleged immigration violations was arrested Friday afternoon at his residence in the 26000 block of Woodcrest Lane.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Manual Mendoza, 34—a previously deported felon—was arrested at about 4 p.m. after he was spotted by a deputy outside of his home. The deputy requested backup from the Gang Enforcement Team.

The Sheriff's Department said that when the enforcement team arrived, Mendoza attempted to run back inside the residence. After he was apprehended, deputies searched Mendoza and his home, which turned up  methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

Mendoza was booked into the Orange County Jail for his outstanding warrant and on suspicion of possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia and suspicion of providing false information to deputies about his identity.
