Man Who Hanged Self Near Shoppers Believed to be Transient
Officials have identified the 49-year-old who committed suicide from a rail near the Sport Chalet on Wednesday.
The 49-year-old man who hanged himself behind a store in Laguna Niguel on Wednesday has been identified as David B. Epps, according to officials.
"His last known address is Laguna Hills; however, it is believed that he spent his time in an area where transients are known to stay," said O.C. Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino.
Authorities originally said the death occurred behind the nearby Costco, but witnesses and city officials said the suicide actually happened behind Sport Chalet.
