Motorcyclist Killed on Ortega Highway

A 29-year-old man dies after rear-ending a Capo Beach driver's Honda Element, officials say.

A 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed after driving his Suzuki Samurai motorcycle into the back of a stopped car on the Ortega Highway, the coroner's office said Sunday.

The motorcyclist was identified as Travis Tucker of Murrieta.

The crash occurred about 12:18 p.m. Saturday on the westbound highway, about 14 miles east of Interstate 5, according to a department statement.

Tucker's motorcycle hit the rear of a 2006 Honda Element that had stopped in heavy traffic on the mountain road. The Honda's driver, a 54-year-old Capistrano Beach woman, was not hurt or cited, CHP officers said.

Paramedics rushed Tucker to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he was pronounced dead at 3:03 p.m. Saturday.

Sorry but a Suzuki Samurai is a SUV, not a motorcycle. No disrespect intended but stating a fact. RIP.
