SJC Man Tries to Break into Cockpit to Get at ‘Evil’ Pilots

Bryan Ray Allen has been arrested on suspicion of violating federal laws.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA -- Saying the pilots were “evil,” a California man has been arrested on suspicion of interfering with a Southwest Airlines flight.

A Texas paper reports that Bryan Ray Allen, 31, told police methamphetamine and alcohol had him convinced he was on a “plane ride to hell” and he had to get into the cockpit because the pilots were evil.

According to the Odessa American, Allen was on his way from Las Vegas to Dallas with a stopover in Midland, Texas, on Thursday when he tried to enter the cockpit. Although passengers attempted to calm him down, Allen would not cooperate with flight crew members who told him to sit down.

“He felt that there were evil demonic forces on the flight from Las Vegas to Midland. He thought God was speaking to him and he needed to get off the plane mid-flight or get into the cockpit because the pilots were evil,” the Odessa American reported, citing a federal complaint against Allen.

Upon landing at the layover, Allen tried to get out of the plane before it reached the gate, the Odessa American said. When he finally made it to the tarmac, officers with the Midland Police Department were waiting, the newspaper reported.

Allen reportedly struggled with police. A mug shot, included with the story, showed Allen with a cut to his face. He was then interviewed by FBI, the paper reported.
