Robber Grabs $400 From 76 Station

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, with a cursive tattoo on the upper right-hand side of his chest.

Orange County sheriff's investigators are looking into a robbery that occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the 76 gas station on Ortega Highway.

According to police, the man stole between $400 and $500 in cash after threatening to shoot a store employee, who subsequently flagged down deputies.

The man had "entered the store through the door and demanded money from the cash register," Lt. John Meyer said. Then, as he reached into his jacket, the man told the employee he would shoot him unless he got the money.

"No weapon was actually seen," Meyer added.

The victim was able to describe in detail to police what the robber looked like. He was white, in his 20s, about 5 feet 11, with a cursive tattoo on the upper right side of his chest. He was wearing a white tank top, light-colored blue jeans, a black hoodie (in which the inside of the hood was white) and black gloves.
