San Juan Man Suspected of Killing 5 in Nevada Accident

Law enforcement authorities believe Jean Ervin Soriano was drunk at the time of the weekend crash.

A San Juan Capistrano resident is accused of drunken driving, causing a crash in Nevada that killed five.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Jean Ervin Soriano, 18, is being held on $3.5 million bail in a Las Vegas jail.

Soriano is accused of rear-ending a minivan carrying seven people at 3 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 15 south of Mesquite.

The Times reported that the van spun out and flipped. Five of its passengers died, including three brothers.

Soriano reportedly was born in Mission Viejo and listed Ladera Ranch on a 2011 police citation.

His arraignment is scheduled for April 10.
