Could it?

The car has a combination entry, so Rob Benjamin punched in the numbers while the family held its collective breath.

“It worked!” wrote Michele Benjamin.

“Thanks to everyone who said a prayer for us,” Michele Benjamin wrote on San Juan Capistrano Patch’s Facebook wall. “We found our truck, two weeks and 2 miles from our home!!!! God is good.”

The family of six has been getting around with the one remaining car, bicycles and – in inclement weather – on the kindness of neighbors.

After Orange County Sheriff’s deputies could not find the suspected thieves, they had the SUV towed so investigators could look for evidence of the thieves’ identity before they hand it back to the family.

“Police really seem intent on scouring every inch for any fingerprint,” Michele Benjamin told Patch. “Should be easy...he/she/they went through everything!”
