Suicide-by-Train in Capo Beach Closes Tracks

Witnesses said a 54-year-old man purposely stepped in front of an oncoming Metrolink train Wednesday afternoon.

 A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian in Dana Point Wednesday just after 5 p.m., several media outlets reported.

Authorities believe the 54-year-old man purposely stepped in front of the oncoming, northbound train to commit suicide, reports the Orange County Register

The incident occurred halfway between the San Clemente station and the San Juan Capistrano depot, near Doheny State Beach, the Register reported.

An investigation shut down train service, and many passengers tweeted about the delay and bus called to the scene to continue their commute.
