Suspicious Hunch Leads to Arrest

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a hit and run with a parked car, a man is drunk in public, and a water leak causes traffic.

At 11:38 p.m. Sunday Dec. 1, someone called the sheriff’s office to report a suspicious person in the 33000 block of Calle Aviador. The caller asked deputies to investigate a shifty man. Deputies arrived and pulled a warrant for the 59-year-old man’s arrest. He has since been released from jail.

Also:

At 11:11 a.m. Sunday Dec. 1, a caller phoned n informant called deputies to report a hit and run in the 32500 block of Alipaz Street. The caller claimed another car had hit a parked,red Toyota Camry.

At 11:30 a.m. Sunday Dec. 1, a caller reported a disturbance near the cross streets of Camino Capistrano and Yorba Street. An extremely intoxicated 50-year-old man was stumbling along the sidewalk toward Verdugo Street.

At 3:20 p.m. Sunday Dec. 1, a driver reported a traffic hazard near the cross streets of Camino Capistrano and Calle Lorenzo. A water leak had sprung up from underneath the asphalt and was causing a traffic jam.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher.
