Suspicious Man in Hotel Is Arrested

At 11:27 p.m. Monday Nov. 18, someone called the sheriff’s office to ask for a pedestrian check near Ortega Highway and the I-5 Freeway. The caller asked deputies to check on a man inside a Best Western hotel room. Deputies arrived and arrested a 26-year-old man. The young man is currently in custody with no bail amount posted.

At 2:21 p.m. Sunday Nov. 17, an informant reported a firework violation in the 30200 block of Camino Capistrano. The caller claimed that a group of people was setting off illegal fireworks and had run away to avoid being caught.
At 4:45 p.m. Sunday Nov. 17, someone reported a disturbance in the 32300 block of Alipaz Street. The informant stated a 62-year-old friend was refusing to leave his home. Deputies arrived to diffuse the situation.
At 12:44 p.m. Monday Nov. 18, deputies received a report about a disturbance in the 31100 block of Rancho Viejo Road. The informant stated a man was being verbally argumentative with an employee at a local dry cleaning store over a service issue.
