The Mystery of the Vanishing Vehicle

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, an unknown disturbance, two suspicious teens, and a late-night Halloween vandal.

At 6:10 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, a confused caller reported a stolen vehicle in the 27500 block of Brookside Lane. The caller claimed his car had been stolen from the street. There was no broken glass in sight, the informant had the keys, and the caller claimed the vehicle could not have been towed or repossessed.

Also:

At 12:50 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 30, someone asked deputies to keep the peace in the 33200 block of Via Mayor. Deputies arrived and quickly diffused the situation.

At 5:07 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 30, an informant reported a suspicious person in the 26700 block of Verdugo Street. The caller claimed two teenagers were running toward the San Juan train station. Deputies arrived and detained two teenage girls.

At 3:56 a.m. Friday, deputies received a report about vandalism near the cross streets of Camino Capistrano and Acjachema Street. The informant claimed the vandal was actively tagging the neighborhood.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
