Uninvited Wedding Guest Crashes Party

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a graceful victim, a really, really long ghost train, and a concerned mother.

At 10:23 p.m. Friday Oct. 18, someone called the sheriff’s office to report a disturbance in the 31800 block of Camino Capistrano. A 24-year-old man drinking out of a brown plastic bag had stumbled into the middle of a wedding ceremony. When asked to leave, the drunken man angrily refused.

At 12:07 a.m. Thursday Oct. 17, deputies received a report of a burglary in progress in the 26400 block of Calle San Luis. The caller told deputies he did not wish to press charges against the thief.

At 6:48 a.m. Thursday Oct. 17, a confused caller reported a traffic hazard near the cross streets of Del Obispo Street and Camino Capistrano. The informant claimed the railroad crossing arms were stuck in the down position with no train in sight for 10 minutes. Authorities immediately alerted Metrolink, which fixed the problem quickly.

At 6:23 p.m. Friday Oct. 18, someone reported a disturbance in the 32100 block of Paseo Carolina. The caller claimed her son was on drugs and being verbally abusive toward her.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher.
