VIDEO: Benefit Concert Attracts Big Crowds

Local musicians come out to raise money for bass guitarist Lance Lyons, who was brutally attacked almost two months ago by a suspected murderer.

Organizers of the were expecting maybe 100 people Sunday, but the event attracted three times that number.

The local musicians came together at the to raise money for Lance Lyons of San Juan Capistrano, who was .

While Lyons's brother, , believed to be , before he could take a second blow, Lance suffered major injuries that required facial reconstruction.

A pool installer by day and a bass guitarist by night, Lance doesn't have health insurance. So his friends came together to host a concert, raffle and silent auction to help him pay the medical bills.

A second benefit concert is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at in Laguna Niguel (21 and over only). It will include a car wash, barbeque, a raffle and music from Lance's band, Bunch O Guys.
