WATCH: Re-enactment of Kelli Groves Accident

NBC's Dateline devoted an hour-long episode to the crash -- and miraculous rescue -- that made headlines around the world.

About 1 1/2 years after a horrific, headline-grabbing car accident that left San Juan Capistrano resident Kelli Groves and her two daughters dangling from a Santa Barbara County bridge, NBC Dateline has devoted a whole hour to the incident.

While many of the details are similar to a story Patch published in February 2012, NBC put together a computerized re-enactment of the crash itself, which shows the car driven by Groves as a truck dragged it along the bridge for about 50 feet. You can catch the re-creation at the 4-minute mark.

Also exclusive to the piece is "helmet cam" footage from a camera worn by a Santa Barbara County firefighter.

The episode aired June 28, and you can see it in its entirety at NBC's website
