Earlier this week, Patch reported that the latest report from San Juan Capistrano City Manager Karen Brust now has the end date between mid-April and the end of the month.

Caltrans spokesman David Richardson said Thursday there will be some tidying up and landscape work done in May, but the the primary concern of drivers will be addressed by very early May.

Part of the reason for delays, Richardson said, was because someof the work on Camino Capistrano was too close to the railroad tracks, and workers not only had to stop what they were doing every time a train passed, they had to physically get out of their equipment and move away from the tracks.

The city manager’s report from two weeks ago had the end date set for “early” April because of weather delays.

Patch will keep you apprised as we learn of new information.

Meanwhile, work at the Ortega Highway interchange is full steam ahead.
