Through Sept. 30, challenger Kim McCarthy has raised $2,800 in donations and has lent herself another $2,500.
So far, she’s spent $15,365, although $8,247 in bills are as of yet unpaid. When paid off, she’ll have a cash balance of $744 in her war chest.
Among her donors are:
- Jim Reardon, candidate for Capistrano Unified School District Board of Trustees, for $250
- General Contractor Tony Brown for $250
- Ian Smith, frequent council critic and fellow member of the editorial board at Capistrano Common Sense, for $100
- Cameron Grenier, the neighbor whose complaints against Forster Mansion’s weddings prompted the city to shut that business down, for $250.
She has spent the bulk of her money on signage.
NOTE: The statement has a typo, McCarthy's campaign manager Kim Lefner confirmed. It shows the total contributions received, both donations and loans, as $3,000 when the two amounts add up to $4,000.
