City Manager's Update: Sept. 30, 2011

Marriott Residence Inn construction on schedule, a public trail at Saddleback Valley Christian Schools is under construction and the city's water treatment plant produced an average of 3.58 million gallons daily between Sept. 1 and Sept. 21.

SADDLEBACK VALLEY CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS: The public is under construction. The school will be making a request to the City Council on Oct. 4 to amend the settlement agreement regarding construction deadlines at the campus and student enrollment.

MARRIOTT RESIDENCE INN: Staff and the Design Review Committee (DRC) conducted a field review to approve final colors. The project is moving on schedule and the sign program should go to the DRC and Planning Commission in October.

MISSION GILL (PEDRO'S TACOS): Plans were reviewed by the Development Advisory Board Sept. 21, and scheduled for a Planning Commission work session review on Oct. 10 and the Design Review Committee on Oct. 20.

HISTORIC TOWN CENTER MASTER PLAN: The draft Environmental Impact Report is nearly complete. Staffers aim to post the Notice of Completion in early October for the draft EIR, initiating the 45-day public review period and begin the boards and commission advisory review process.

HISTORIC LOS RIOS CIRCULATION PLAN: On Oct. 4, the City Council will consider a recommended by the Los Rios residents, staff, and the consultant as part of the Southern California Association of Government’s (SCAG) Compass Blueprint Program.

MISSION ENTRY GATE AND GIFT SHOP: The applicant has contacted staff and is preparing to submit for building plan check.

GROUNDWATER RECOVERY PLANT: Between Sept. 1 and Sept. 21, the treatment plant produced an average of 3.58 million gallons daily, equivalent to 11.66 acre feet per day. Utility department staffers are blending treated well water through the bypass line in the plant which adds to the plant’s total production. Production to date for this fiscal year, which starts July 1, has been 824.35 acre feet. The goal is 3,500 acre feet.
