Lobster Fisherman to Buy 2 Historic Homes

The city is unloading the Harrison House and Parra Adobe for $510,000.

A lobster fisherman had the highest bid on two historic homes on Ortega Highway the city is unloading.

The San Juan Capistrano City Council agreed Tuesday to accept Ivar Southern’s $510,000 bid for the Harrison House and Parra Adobe. According to a council report, the homes will be used for residential purposes.

The city’s Realtor had listed the property for $450,000 and received seven bids, ranging from the asking price to Southern’s top price.
