Mayor to Host 'Brown Bag Luncheons'

The first in a series will take place noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 30.

Starting March 30, Mayor Sam Allevato will host a monthly "brown bag luncheon" series for residents "to learn more about issues in town," the city announced Monday.

Each luncheon will feature a city issue. The first theme is: "San Juan's mobility—How current and future transportation projects in and around San Juan Capistrano will impact your quality of life."

It will take place noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 in Council Chambers at City Hall, 32400 Paseo Adelanto. Staffers will be on hand to provide detailed information, and a brief Q&A session moderated by the mayor will follow.

In the coming months, the brown bag lunches will focus on the following topics:

  • Why have my water rates gone up and what can we do to conserve?
  • San Juan is 40 percent open space; how can I enjoy it?
  • How is the being revitalized?
  • What exactly is the and what has it done for our town?
