Residents Reminded of Yard Waste Regulations

The township is divided into four zones for yard waste pick up. Yard waste is defined as branches, twigs, plants and other vegetative materials.

Editor's Note: The following is a news brief sent out by Lawrence Township and posted on the township's website.

Lawrence Township residents are reminded of the regulations pertaining to the disposal of yard waste from residential properties. The township is divided into four zones for yard waste pick up. Yard waste is defined as branches, twigs, plants and other vegetative materials. The ordinance states yard waste is only to be placed at the curb for pick up during the week your street designated by zone.

The township is divided into four zones. To determine the designated zone week for your property you may check the Township website at: www.lawrencetwp.com. On the home page you will find Online Property Search. Once on the property search option, please type in your address and your zone will be identified. You may also contact the public works office at (609) 587-1894 for information regarding the designated zone for your property location.

The ordinance also states the yard waste shall not be placed at the curb for pick up earlier than the weekend prior to your designated pick up week. In addition, the yard waste shall be placed loose at the curb and not in bags. The materials shall be placed in the street no greater than four feet from the curb and piled no greater than three feet in height.

Please note these regulations are set by township ordinance and may be enforced by Township officials. Your anticipated compliance with these regulations is appreciated in order to allow for the efficient collection of the yard waste and to maintain the positive aesthetic quality of the community.

Well it's about time they try to enforce this ordinance. I'm so tired of driving around huge piles of brush for weeks on end. No sooner does the truck pick up stuff in my neighborhood people start new piles the next day.
