Training Camp Still Annoying Neighbors

Earlier this month, the Planning Commission denied outdoor classes at the facility, but one resident says that hasn't stopped them.

A resident who lives near the hot yoga facility off of Camino Las Ramblas said the business still offers boot camp classes illegally outside.

Earlier this month, the San Juan Capistrano , such as yoga, weight training and boot camps. 

But neighbor Mark McCloskey said the outdoor classes continue.

“Since that time there's been 13 outside boot camp classes,” McCloskey told the Planning Commission Tuesday. He said he took photos of the outdoor activities, which included rope-climbing.  

, the city’s assistant director of development services, said he recently met with the owners, Robert and Debbie Trette, to explain which “baseline” activities would be allowed.

He added code enforcement officers can begin writing violation notices, even as the owners appeal the Planning Commission’s decision to the City Council.

The Planning Commission voted Tuesday to adopt a final resolution, cementing its ban on outdoor activities at the Training Camp, 4-0, with Commissioner Roy Nunn absent and Commissioners Gene Ratcliffe and Ginny Kerr abstaining because they were not at the first meeting.
