Camp Pendleton Recognizes Marco Forster For Afghanistan Humanitarian Efforts

I MEF deputy commanding general, Maj. Gen. Melvin Spiese, presented the school with a trophy for collecting more than 200 supplies for Afghanistan schools.

  received recognition from Marine Maj. Gen. Melvin Spiese Thursday for its contribution to the non-profit group Spirit of America's Afghan Children's School Project.

Spiese, deputy commanding general of the I Marine Expeditionary Force based at Camp Pendleton, presented a trophy to Parent-Teacher-Student Association president Bonnie Small for the school's efforts in collecting more than 200 supplies for Afghan schools earlier in the month.

Marco Forster raised the most supplies in a district-wide contest which yielded more than 4,000 supplies for the project.
