Del Obispo Elementary Has McFun

Teachers and staffers sling some burgers, fries and cookies to the hungry masses at the annual fundraiser at the McDonald's in San Juan Capistrano.

When the guy behind the counter asked, "Would you like to super-size that?" on Monday night, he looked awfully familiar to students from .

That's because it was Mr. [Eric]Gruenewald, their principal. Or maybe it was Ms. [Sylvia] O'Malley, their third-grade teacher.

And then there was Señora [Claudia] Infante, the bilingual liaison who works in the office. But she was selling cookies.

The moonlighting was a fundraiser, with this year's proceeds going to another teacher who has worked this fundraiser in the past but this year cannot, first-grade teacher Kelli Groves.

Groves, and her 10-year-old daughter Sage, who also is a student at Del Obispo, were in and are still recovering from their injuries.
