Pepperdine University President to Speak at JSerra Catholic

Andrew K. Benton has served as the seventh president of Pepperdine University for a decade, and continues to lead Pepperdine to prominence among the nation’s top universities.  A lawyer by training, President Benton cares deeply about the students, and is often called “the students’ president.” 

Benton  currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the National Commission on Higher Education Attainment, the president’s cabinet of the West Coast Conference, and is past chair of the American Council on Education (ACE), the major coordinating body for all of the nation’s higher education institutions.

President Benton is a 1974 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University with a degree in American Studies and was recently honored with the university’s distinguished alumni award. He earned his law degree from Oklahoma City University in 1979 and practiced law in Oklahoma City until his move to Pepperdine University in 1984.   Prior to his presidency, Benton served in several  key leadership roles at the university including executive vice president and vice president for university affairs and administration.

As a distinguished speaker Benton will share the value of a Christian education with the JSerra community.
