This group welcomes anyone who has lost a loved one through death or divorce. In this safe and caring environment members will have an opportunity to share their grief experiences and learn new tools to move forward in life. This on -going monthly program will include discussions of the grief process, positive transitions, goal setting, the psychology of human happiness, dealing with depression, and human resiliency. There will be interactive activities which will assist members with tools to help facilitate their journey toward living a happier life. Group is limited to twenty. Reservations recommended. No charge
Professor, Emeritus psychology of communication, expert in recovery from trauma, founded support group for domestic violence victims at Laura’s House in 1994, authored 5 books, member TTAC (technical training and advisory consortium) through the Office of Victims of Crime, U.S. Justice Dept., nominated for the American President’s Service Award, 2009 Teacher of the Year, Cypress College. Donna is an experienced group leader and life coach.
Donna has authored five books, her autobiography, Cry the Darkness (HCI, 1993) has been published in seven languages. Donna has been a social activist for children’s rights. She is a member of the United States Justice Department, Office for Victims of Crime, TTAC consortium, an advisory group on victims’ affairs. She was nominated for the U.S. President’s Service Award. She has appeared on Oprah as well as other television and radio shows here and aboard. She was Teacher of the Year for Cypress College in 2009. She is listed in Who’s Who in America, Great Teachers, Who’s Who in the World. She and her husband Ken, enjoy an active life with their eleven grandchildren, their horses and dogs.
