St. Margaret's to Break Ground on New Middle School in August

"Building the Middle School is the last major step in completing the Campus Master Plan envisioned a decade ago," say school officials.

A letter to parents from St. Margaret's Episcopal School from Head of School William N. Moseley and Board Chairman Jason A. Weiss:

We are thrilled to announce that the much anticipated promise of a new, state-of-the-art Middle School will be realized within the next year. In August 2014, we plan to break ground on the new Middle School at the northwest corner of campus adjacent to the Performing Arts Center. Construction will take approximately one year and we anticipate opening the new facility in August 2015, for the start of the 2015-2016 school year.

Building the Middle School is the last major step in completing the Campus Master Plan envisioned a decade ago. This extraordinary growth and development for our school is only possible because of the faithful support and unwavering trust of so many St. Margaret’s families who have participated generously in the Legacy and Building on the Promise capital campaigns. A significant amount of donations for the Middle School were made recently by a small group of leadership donors. While this successful fundraising secures the financial stability of the project and enables the Board of Trustees to move forward with construction, additional financial support is necessary to complete the Middle School as envisioned.

To each and every one of these families, we are forever grateful for your generosity, partnership and love of St. Margaret’s. This new Middle School campus will be a center for growth and innovation providing new resources and infrastructure to fully support the leading, 21st-century Middle School academic program, and the exceptional teaching and learning of our faculty and students. This is an exciting day for St. Margaret’s Episcopal School. Today, we fulfill a longstanding promise to our community, yet there is important work ahead. Over the next 12 months, we will witness this world-class educational center rise from the ground signifying our ongoing commitment to always grow, to set the bar high and reach higher, and to be satisfied with nothing less than excellence for our students. We look forward with confidence and enthusiasm that together we will continue to advance St. Margaret’s Episcopal School as one of the leading independent schools in the nation.
