Forget raising funds for charity. The basketball fans at Capistrano Valley Christian Schools were raising teddy bears.
Raising and hurling them, that is.
The fans tossed 51 bears into the air Saturday night as part of halftime festivities. The winner landing closest to center court, marked off with a piece of tape, received a $25 Visa gift card.
The bears are now on their way to Laura's House, a home for battered women and children.
We here at SJC Patch decided with all the scary news these days, we could all use a smile.
P.S., the Eagles beat Sage Hill, 48-40.
