Trinity League: OLu gets a surprisingly big passing performance and avenges two years of losses to the Lions.

The feel-good story of the football season got a bit abrasive on Friday night. In its Trinity League opener, JSerra ran into an Orange Lutheran team bent on revenge.

OLu snapped its two-year losing streak to JSerra, which suffered further injury when standout Dante Pettis was hurt and missed the second half.

Key Stats: Orange Lutheran quarterback Luke Langdon passed for 164 yards and rushed for 49 yards and touchdowns of 4 and 14 yards.

Pivotal Moment: Holding a 7-0 lead, Langdon passed 76 yards to Mathew Hannon to take a 13-0 lead with 3:23 left in the first quarter. With the onus on JSerra to match the physical play of its opponents in the Trinity League, falling behind by two scores hurt. Just 83 seconds after the bomb, JSerra snapped the ball out the back of the end zone for a safety. Less than three minutes later, JSerra was down 22-0.

Notes: Although either team could finish in the top three and get an automatic playoff berth, if they don't, this game could prove huge in determining who gets one of the two available at-large berths in the Pac-5 Division. ...
