Stallion Volleyballers Reach CIF

It's the first such playoff in school history for the boys' team.

For the first time in school history, the boys’ varsity volleyball team has made it to the Division 2 CIF championship playoffs.

In first-round action, the Stallions – who are ranked No. 2 in the Sea View League – will face Beckman High of Irvine, ranked No. 3 in the Pacific Coast League.

The matchup begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday at San Juan Hills’ “Saddle Dome.” Tickets are $7 for general admission, $5 for students with an ASB card.

Should – but we say when – the Stallions prevail, on Thursday, they’ll meet the winner of the game between West Ranch (from Stevenson Ranch near Magic Mountain) and Santa Marita’s Righetti.

San Juan Hills clinched its playoff berth last month, when the boys beat El Toro,  25-20, 25-23, 25-23 in a home victory.
