Stallions Baseball Team Wins Wild Card

Another San Juan Hills team is headed for the CIF post-season playoffs.

has headed for the CIF post-season playoffs: the boys varsity baseball team.

Getting there wasn’t easy. The team, (18-11) had to travel to Ventura and play a wild card game against Buena High and earn the right to enter the playoffs. They won, 6-4

According to the Ventura County Star, for the Stallions, this game was all about the first inning. San Juan Hills scored all of its runs in its first ups, five before the Bulldogs managed to make the first out.

"You can't spot a team six runs in the first inning in a playoff game and expect good things to happen," Buena head coach Mark Magdaleno told the Ventura County Star. "That first inning definitely was a momentum changer and it was tough to get the momentum back."

Next up, the Stallions travel to Moreno Valley Canyon Springs Thursday to face the top-seeded Cougars.
