FROSH/SOPH

After five minutes of play with the Trabuco Mustangs pressing hard, the Stallion defense stood strong, with Tanner Novak (goalie) leading the efforts on D. On offense, Cole Sundly cleared and hit Donovan, who took on two defenders. Shreve took it to the corner and got off a beautiful cross, finding Oscar Manzano’s head, which sent it into the back of the net. San Juan Hills was up by one only five minutes in. The Mustangs answered with a goal of their own five minutes later.

Then, with just five minutes before the half, Shreve finds a loose ball, goes one-on-one with the goalie and scores. Stallions were up 2-1 at the half. Trabuco came back to even the score, but San Juan Hills finished the game victorious, 4-2. Shreve scored two of the four, and Jose Saldana knocked in the fourth.

Three boys are tied as the team’s top scorers with two goals apiece in league play: Shreve, Saldana and Mayco Garcia. The team’s record stands at 1-2-1 with a one cancelled game.
