WATCH: USA Slams Japan in Inaugural Volleyball Cup

A sellout crowd watched the U.S. women's national volleyball team beat Japan at JSerra High School on Saturday night.

The U.S. women's national volleyball team completed a three-match sweep of Japan before a sellout crowd Saturday at JSerra Catholic High School in the first-ever USA Volleyball Cup.

The San Juan Capistrano high school, along with UC San Diego and Long Beach State University, hosted the match series that ended with the world's top-ranked team besting Japan, 25-15, 25-19, 21-25, 23-25, 15-10, according to the Associated Press (via ESPN).

There were 2,000 people in the "standing-room only" crowd at Saturday night's game at JSerra High, according to Team USA, a show of support appreciated by the players.

“It has been amazing to play in front of great crowds this week,” Lauren Paolini, who had 14 points, said to the team. “We feed off the crowd and they have been incredible. By seeing the crowds show up and supporting us means our hard work and dedication means a lot to people other than just our team. It is very meaningful to have the crowds come out night after night to support us in this event.”

Videos of the matches are available on the Team USA website.

Team USA is now 8-0 this season.
