BLOG: What Will Rogers Would Have Said About HVAC for the Playhouse

Folks, I read about an urgent problem right here in our little town. It seems
the folks over at are gettin’
the last few weeks. 

That’s because the old HVAC unit has played its last act. 

That thing is almost as old as me – 'course I’m plannin’ on a few more
acts before they roll down the curtain on me. 

Now back when I was a kid in Oklahoma, we’d just open the windows or go
outside under the trees.  Well, we didn’t do that Fosse dancin’ or need all the lights on us, so I understand why this is so important. 

Now those creative folks at the Playhouse have organized a non-event fundraiser to pay for this. I’m always going to fundraiser events where
you gotta dress up, sit through boring speeches (except mine – I’m usually
standin’ for that one) and eat rubber chicken. 

Now folks, with this non-event fundraiser, you can do all the good with
your donation of $25 per ticket and not have to put yourself through the hassle of goin’ anyplace.  All you gotta do is buy tickets for you and your friends to this non-event fundraiser and then you can take the day off! 

When I was in Monte Carlo a while back, I ran into a bunch of Republicans from Orange County, and I learned from them that they don’t really mind partin’ with their money so long as ya don’t call it “taxes.”  So here’s a chance to part with a few dollars and call it a “tax deduction.”  

Folks, that’s a win-win for both Republicans and Democrats.
