In observance of the Labor Day holiday, there will be no closures through Monday. Regularly scheduled closures will resume on Tuesday, according to a notice from Caltrans.
Pile-driving at the I-5/Ortega Highway interchange began last week. This activity will take place on weekdays between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and occasionally on week nights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. intermittently for several weeks, weather permitting.
Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive because of vibration and pounding. With local schools starting, the I-5/Ortega Highway team would like to remind everyone to plan ahead and allow extra time to commute to and from your destinations while in the construction area.
Regularly scheduled nighttime closure(s) from today through Saturday, Sept. 7 include:
Lane reduction on the southbound I-5 freeway between Junipero Serra Road and Camino Capistrano, Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Northbound I-5 off-ramp to Ortega Highway closed Tuesday, between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m. .
Southbound I-5 off-ramp to Ortega Highway closed Tuesday through Thursday, between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m.
