Ortega Highway commuters, are you feeling squeezed on both ends of San Juan Capistrano?
Your pain – at least half of it – will be over in two days.
The work on Ortega at Reata Road is to install a water line into the new Reata Park the San Juan Capistrano Open Space Foundation is building, according to Orange County spokeswoman Pamela Middlebrook.
“The traffic control shifts traffic outward in both directions and is set up to allow work in the center of the highway,” she said.
Cathy Salcedo, spokeswoman for the city of San Juan Capistrano, said technically, it’s not a lane closure. The white concrete “K rails” are scheduled for removal Friday.
Cleanup of the area will take another week, she added.
