Cedar Creek

The Cedar Creek Inn is a local favorite in San Juan Capistrano. There are two other locations of the casual, yet beautifully prepared and served American bistro: Laguna Niguel and Brea. From the steakhouse fare to nachos and tostada salads, to old-fashioned shrimp cocktail and ravioli stuffed with squash and crab, there's a taste to satisfy everyone. A small bar serves some inspired specialty cocktails that are popular with the downtown office crowd during happy hour. There is also a small dining room next to the bar that has a beautiful fireplace, but the real draw is to sit outside in the garden setting, with a view of the historic Mission. It is also right across the street from the local Playhouse so it attracts a pre- and post-theater crowd. Sneak in right before the curtain goes up and you will have the place to yourself, at least until the dinner crowd arrives.
