The Silvas Adobe is situated in the Los Rios Street Historic District, the oldest section in the town of San Juan Capistrano's history. It is best to tour this area by foot and it is fun to wander through the history and boutique shops that are scattered about the area. The small adobe hut is one of the structures built in 1870's to house the workers who would build the iconic Mission Church. The structure has been taken over by the Historical Society of San Juan Capistrano and it is currently a part of the walking tour the society hosts. The structure will open to the public in the future as a museum. It is a landmarked status building.
