Absolutely the best I have ever seen there. It made the day so worth it. And loved having FamilyRead More Style provide the daytime blast. Thank you to all. I'll see you next year.

From Patriot Hill, we can actually see 10 shows! SJC stood out. Dana Point's did too, it wasRead More excellent ... until the smoke mixed with marine layer made it impossible to see most of the fireworks.

I was terribly impressed with this years show! I meant to compliment whoever was responsible byRead More writing to the city but got busy. So whoever was responsible for that - many thanks for a job really well done!
Don't lose control and blow off any fingers this year.

Do you get drunk when you set your fireworks off? That would be a violation of the new law. IRead More know figures lie and liars figure, but statistics show that the majority of people at fireworks parties drink intoxicants. How may bike riders drink intoxicants before riding? Here's another one: "The truth hurts." You can't compare the too. It is a dangerous law which does not protect and is not enforced. The supposed "law makers" behind this money-driven blood-law knew it would hurt many Michigan residents. Here's one more: “Money talks” which is shameful in this case. IMO, 90% of the population (and animals world) would prefer to see fireworks only in the hands of professionals (with proper safety precautions), like at “Dearborn Homecoming .” I am hoping to see this law rescinded with those greedy “law-makers” who pushed for it, voted out. Have you heard of any appearance tickets issued or arrests made regarding violations over the last month? There should have been many. If your police chief elects to relax enforcement, vote the mayor and council out, too. They are responsible for him.

Rich, statistics show the injuries, bikers have 3 times more injuries in parks than fireworks sinceRead More obviously there are more bikers, but the fact remains that more folk get injured on bikes in the parks, whether drinking or not. More importantly, we both agree that it is insane to shoot huge bottle rockets in our crowded neighborhoods. For years, fireworks came from Ohio, now they can be purchased closer to home, rescinding the law will only enrich Ohio again as Michigan folk will buy fireworks from somewhere. The important question.. where to shoot them off? Again, it is insane shooting huge fireworks off in crowded neighborhoods by drinking folk who are unsure of what they are doing. We need guidance from the govt, state or city, to come up with a solution. Any other ideas?

You are like a broken record with the comparison of bicycles to fireworks. Fireworks, alwaysRead More dangerous, don't impose on people's quality of life for 30 days out of the year; plus, the residual idiots who are breaking the law on many more days out of the year. Just tonight, I heard a pop and saw a woman screaming at her dog, in full flight mode, dragging the leash. That's what I'm talking about. How many dog-owners are afraid to walk their dogs one week after Independence Day because the dogs are terrified of the pops? With no enforcement, this law is just a wink and a nod. The quality of life in Dearborn gets worse each year; and your wonderful law is one of the recent reasons for part of the decline.

Alcohol is is probably the most dangerous and damaging drug. Around 35,000 Americans are killed inRead More alcohol related auto accidents every year. About 88,000 die when you add alcohol related diseases. Countless lives and families are destroyed. Personally, my childhood memories are nothing but fear and embarrassment from having a drunk parent. So it should never be taken lightly or promoted. If you do drink, please do so extremely carefully, responsibly, and consider what your actions do to people around you.

While this looks fun and enticing to adults - remember it also looks attractive to teens andRead More underage youth. Promoting and glamorizing alcohol consumption at family friendly events and occasions like the 4th of July can send the wrong message to youth. We need to model the behavior we want our youth to mimic. Family friendly and alcohol free drinks are just as fun and pretty. Let's promote and model healthy choices for our teens.

There are always "issues at refineries", its the biggest price fixing scheme in the state.
Zarek July 1, 2014 at 06:40 am
"Issues"? There are no issues or accidents. You want an article, interview one of theRead More people at the refineries and get the truth or maybe someone that used to work at one or used to work for the oil companies. It is about time someone did some real reporting and printed the TRUTH behind the LIES.

What I want to know is LAPSD and LASD going to finally crack down on out of control DUI's this 5thRead More of May. Its turned into a drunk fest and for some reason law enforcement says, "naw we can't, not today. Stay off the roads; its rookie day at the Mexican bars and restaurants So LAPD and LASD, are you going to do something about it this year!?

No Charles, some people do give a lot of thought to Presidents today. Especially those two. TheyRead More want to impeach the current one like Nixon, and wish that Reagan was actually the President resembling his hagiography. Still others express their indifference while commenting from the beach, presumably planning their future, watching their investments, and the indifference of people to Presidents, or at least why it should be nothing but.
