These little ones need a lot of attention during their first year of school in order to help them to grow and hopefully become lifelong learners. By offering a split day (early birds & late owls), it allows the teacher to work with smaller groups for part of the school day. This is more work for the teacher who must duplicate lessons for each group. But the benefit to the students make it worthwhile.
